‘I was a model, a movie star, a stripper’: Tennis superstar says she was a ‘model, a Hollywood actress’
Tennis star Serena Williams says she has had “the greatest career ever” and is “truly blessed” to be a model.
Williams, the reigning WTA champion and a six-time grand slam champion, was named a fellow in the “Fashion Icon of the Year” by the American Apparel Foundation and will be on display at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York this week.
Williams will join a lineup of fashion industry luminaries at the institute’s “FACTA” fashion show.
The show will include a fashion exhibition and event called “Futures,” which will feature a fashion show by Williams, model and fashion icon Karlie Kloss and fashion designer Stella McCartney.
The fashion industry is growing in popularity and Williams is no exception, according to Williams.
“I was one of the first models to get in the game,” she said.
“And I was an Oscar winner, a model for a major American brand and a fashion icon.
It’s really humbling to be recognized like that.”
Williams’ father, Mark Williams, a fashion industry icon, was a fashion model for Adidas in the 1970s.
He was one the first athletes to wear Nike shoes.
Williams was born on July 26, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee.
Her father was a former tennis player and basketball player.
She is the first tennis player to be born with Down syndrome.
She has two brothers, a sister, a stepmother and a half-brother.
Williams has been involved in fashion for years.
In 2005, she released a fashion line called “I Love It” featuring outfits by Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Dolce & Gabbana.
In 2014, she launched her own line of apparel called “Darling Girl.”
In 2010, Williams won the US Open at the Rose Bowl, which is the biggest women’s tennis tournament in the world.
She also has an endorsement deal with adidas.
